Pretty epic trip to a 'traditional' Thanksgiving locale! We went to Detroit for the Thanksgiving Day game between the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions. Mike met us there for a quick three day, well, drunk fest?
Jill and I left MCO on Wednesday morning, arriving in Detroit City around noon. Found Mike, grabbed the rental car, and headed to the US-12 Bar and Grill in Wayne, Michigan for a Bills meet up. Had a few beers and some lunch and headed for the hotel to check in. For this trip we stayed at Fort Ponthchartrain a Wyndham Hotel. Not the greatest check in experience as we had to change rooms three times before we ended up with a room that was 'okay'. Headed to the Tin Roof for the first Bills Backers meet up event of the trip. Stayed there for a while and then headed back to the room and called it a night.
Thursday was gameday! And Thanksgiving too! We went to the second Bills Backers event - this time it was a HUGE tent with all the food and drinks you could enjoy! Stayed there for quite a while before heading to the game a couple of blocks away. Good game - Bills won! We remembered most of it (there were a lot of Blue Lights pre-game). Walked to the MGM Casino to spend some money after the game and grab some dinner at D.Prime Steakhouse. Back to hotel after dinner.
On Friday we slept in a bit (all a bit hungover). Headed to Buddy's Pizza in Dearborn for some lunch (and grease!). We had been to this location years ago when we visited Detroit. We had some time to kill so we found a bar near the airport to hang out in (for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the place). Headed to the airport and flew back home.
