So, it's been a few years since we did a New York sports weekend, but the Big City Classic at MetLife Stadium gave us that opportunity. Three lacrosse games on Sunday at a stadium we had not visited previously, and a few sporting options for Saturday, and we had ourselves sports coming out the ears!

Left on Saturday morning, and at Mike's request stopped at Bingham's for breakfast (stuffed french toast - yum!). From there, made our way to sporting event number one - the New York Islanders versus Boston Bruins hockey game on the Island. This would be Jill and I's second time (together) to this venue, Mike's first. From the number of Bruins fans there, you would have thought this was a home game for them!

After the game, we drove into the city, making our way to Southern Hospitality on the Upper East Side for dinner. A return trip for all three of us, but Mike likes it there (chicken and waffles!). Dinner done, and some time to kill we searched out and found the Waffles and Dinges truck! This is a food truck Jill and I had been trying to find to no avail for a few years - seems like our schedule and their location never matched up! Jill and I shared the Throwdown Waffel, and Mike had the Bacon Waffel - both were awesome! Off to the hotel afterwards - the Hampton Inn in Harrison was to be our base this trip.

On Sunday morning, we had breakfast at the hotel before making our way to MetLife Stadium, home of the New York Jets and today the Big City Classic, three lacrosse games between some of D-1's best teams. Notre Dame played St. John's in the first game, our Syracuse Orange against Duke in the second game, and Johns Hopkins played North Carolina in the nightcap. We had great club seats, with seating outside and a large club area we could get into as well, which came in very handy when it started pouring during the 'Cuse game! We didn't stay for the third game because we needed to get Jill to the airport. Left MetLife and drove Jill to Newark International for her flight to Las Vegas for the AAPC Conference, and Mike and I drove home, arriving here around 10:20.
