Elysburg, Pennsylvania

A daytrip to Knoebel's in Elysburg, PA. It had been three years since we were here, and boy has this place changed! I'd be willing to bet this will be our last trip even to this park because it was clear that it is 'failing'.

We left early morning, stopping at Bingham's in Lenox for breakfast. From there, we drove the rest of the way to Knoebel's, arriving around lunchtime. We bought a bunch of tickets, rode a few rides, had some food, and along the way noticed how dirty the place was, how rude the staff was, how the ticket price versus value of that price was out of whack, and the, ahem, 'clientele' that was at the park now. All of these factors combined made it a long day for us. The kids hit the pool and water slide area for a while at the end of the day (which Jill and I both had to pay to come in and 'watch'), and then we left.

We tried finding a Quaker Steak and Lube for dinner, but Wednesday nights are 'Biker Nights' at the Lube, and the two we stopped at were packed with the type of folk we didn't want the kids to be around. We ended up at Fresno's for dinner. Home afterwards.
