Our Big Day!!

So, here it was, finally. The day that Jill and I had dreamed about and planned for the past year and a half, was finally here. I would be willing to bet that most brides and grooms, when faced with their wedding day, have varying degrees of nervousness. However, for some odd reason, neither Jill nor I harbored any of this nervousness. As if it was always meant to be, that two soulmates had found each other and on this day were finally able to say to the world "this is my best friend, my partner, the one I choose to spend the rest of my life with, to dream with, laugh with, love with, and grow old with", we seemed to float through the room in the morning as we compiled everything we would need to make this the most special day in our lives.

We packed up the car and headed over to the Contemporary. Jill's 'dressing room' was Olympus A in the convention center. A small room by convention room standards, but it suited us well and served as adequate space for Jill to get ready in. We brought in two of her wedding dresses, as well as Sara's and her mom's. First 'slip' of the day was when we arrived in the room and found that there wasn't a rack to hang any of the dresses on, nor was there a mirror as had been requested. A quick call to Maxine and within ten minutes the items appeared.

Shortly after 9:00, Caroline Allen arrived to steam the dresses and Jill's veil. While she started, the kids and I headed over to the Food and Fun Center to grab everyone something to eat for breakfast. This took a bit longer than I thought it would, and by the time we got back to the room Sara and Jill had about five minutes to inhale their breakfast before they had to leave for the Grand Floridian Spa. Jill had made an appointment there for Sara to have a pedicure and manicure - her first!
